Marionette lines for beginners — volume and approach?

How are people approaching marionettes at foundation level? Volume per side and any tips to actually lift the corners?

Marionettes are the downward folds at the mouth corners that can make people look sad. As taught: • Cannula, mid-to-deep dermal plane, advance and inject slowly on withdrawal, fanning for even spread. • Guide volume ~0.25 ml per side — small. The aim is to replace lost volume and gently support/lift the corner, not to overfill. Big practical point: marionettes are usually a combination job. The downward pull often comes from the DAO muscle, so a couple of units of toxin to the DAO plus a little filler in the crease works far better than filler alone. There's a good toxin thread on DAO/mentalis if you want the dosing.

  • The tox+filler combo for marionettes is night and day versus filler alone. Manage expectations that an established crease won't fully vanish in one session.
